Our New Playground

Our school playground has been in need of a major upgrade for many years. With sections more than 25 years old, the space previously included worn, broken and missing equipment, which limited play opportunities and created safety concerns for our CPS children.

We’re excited to share that Stage 1 of our new playground is now complete, delivering a safer and more engaging space for students to enjoy. Even better, Stage 2 is fully funded and we are now awaiting construction and final planning so we can continue building on this fantastic progress.

Play is a vital part of learning in primary school. It supports children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development, helping them build confidence, resilience and strong friendships. We believe every child in our community deserves the right to play in a space that supports their growth.

As a P&C, our goal is to create a strategically designed playground for all students from Kindy to Year 6. While we look forward to Stage 2 coming to life, we’re also beginning to plan for the future, including a sports court as Stage 3, to provide even more opportunities for active play and wellbeing across the school.

Playground Snapshot

The new CPS playground design has been created by specialist playground architects to be an inclusive, innovative, fun and safe space for all 600+ children kindy to year 6 to enjoy. It will be the heart of the school.

Once all stages are complete, the playground will consist of:

  • A three-cube tower (the playground 'hero')

  • A cubby building

  • A multisports court

  • Timber decking

  • An embankment slide

  • An overhead net tunnel

  • A track ride

  • Nature play

  • Monkey bars
